Served in WWII as a SSG in the Army Air Corps as a Medic assigned to Air Force Units in India,Burma, and China. He drove a fuel Truck over the Stilwell road to India and earned 2 Bronze Stars. His WWII pistol holster was donated to the Wyoming County History Museum
